We went to visit Shivani’s for lunch on a cool and sunny Tuesday. We walked into the market and were greeted instantly by Shivani and her staff. When ordering, her first question is “do you like spice”. She takes customer service to another level!
She wants to make sure that the dish you choose is right for you and making sure that you enjoy it – especially if you can not handle spicy food. She explained each dish and helped us choose the ones for us. We chose the Channa Masala, Vindaloo, Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken. We also chose a small rice to split and garlic naan.
Each dish was amazing and filled with the wonderful aromas that you would expect from an authentic Indian Restaurant. The tastes were packed with flavour and although the Vindaloo was extremely spicy, it didn’t linger into the day. I was genuinely surprised with the amount of flavour and spices that were incorporated.
I would highly recommend Shivani’s – especially if its your first time. Shivani can recommend and help ease you into the dishes so you don’t feel overwhelmed with the power that some of the dishes have. Although you are just speaking with her for a few moments, she makes your experience extraordinary. She genuinely cares about YOU. She also has a variety of spices to take home so that you can incorporate her flavours into your own meal for your family. The portion sizes for the price (especially their lunch special) is unbelievable and you wont get that much food anywhere else.
